At the end of the sequel to the novel United, Pablo Wairua has become a Tohunga.

All the years of his training culminated in an ingenious act that shifted the paradigm from an age of darkness into one of transition into a golden age. In the tuahu (a sacred place for ritual practices by a tohunga, consisting of an enclosure containing a mound (ahu) and marked by the erection of rods (toko) which were used for divination and other mystic rites) sits a pad scribed with visions that flowed from his heart to his fingertips.
